RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the Heavy Equipment Operator include, but are not limited to:
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner while maintaining excellent awareness of one’s surroundings.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary.
Work with team members in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on line and grade.
Follow directions of team members regarding craning, gravel placement and grading.
Verify location of utilities or other or dangers before commencing work.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the equipment, tools and vehicles.
General labour associated with excavating, including digging, raking and transferring of materials.
Keeping tools, vehicles and machines clean and in excellent working order.
SCHEDULE
Monday to Friday
8 hour shifts
40 hour per week

QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma
Heavy Equipment Operator:1 year
Valid Class 5 Driving License and Clean Abstract (Preferred)
Class 3 or Class 1 Driving Licence (Bonus)
Heavy Equipment Mechanical ability (Bonus)
CERTIFICATION
First Aid Level 1 with CPR
WHMNIS 2015
Ground Disturbance
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Excavators and other heavy equipment.
Knowledge pipes and materials used in septic installation and general hardscaping
Ability to use an iPad for communication, documentation and tracking jobs and processes.
